Not only do written agreements have the advantage of providing evidence concerning who was responsible for what, but also written agreements reduce the chance that a dispute will arise in the first place.  We have provided here 3 agreements for services and 1 agreement for collaboration.  Each one has it’s own unique application and value.  All three agreements for services contain clauses that favor the person who is doing the hiring.  The agreement for collaboration is a neutral biased agreement.

Consulting Agreement Where You Hire An Independent Contractor To Provide Consulting Services To Your Company

The terms of this agreement are in favor of the person who is doing the hiring.

USE THIS FORM WHEN:

Hiring a consultant as an independent contractor to provide specific services for you, which will be performed by the consultant.  The services may include setting up an advertising program, reviewing your website and making recommendations on changes and additions, etc. This form provides the tools necessary to engage an independent contractor as a consultant in providing services to your organization.  Typically the scope of work does not receive a lot of attention in the consulting agreement.   Often times consulting agreements are advisable where the consultant has a longstanding relationship with the customer.

USE THESE FORMS WHEN:

Hiring a copywriter.  Both forms contain the same provisions and protections.  The letter agreement is informal in style, which makes it friendlier.

Agreement When Two or More People Create An Intellectual Work

This agreement describes the project that will be jointly worked on, formalizes the contributions that each party will make, sets a completion date for the project, discusses quitting, ownership of the completed work, splitting of profits and expenses, decision making, representations of each party and how disputes will be handled.
